JAMMU, Aug 1: Dr Akshay Gupta, Professor of Orthodontics, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College here presented his research paper in an international convention in Belgium.
The convention was there from July 25 to 31. It started in Belgium and concluded in Netherlands.
Scientific deliberations of the conference were held by Belgium Orthodontic Association (SAVOUR BEVOR) in a joint venture with Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS) at hotel Metropole, Brussels.
Delegates from India including IOS President and President of Belgium Orthodontic Association were present in the conference.
Dr Akshay presented a scientific research paper supported by clinical evidences and showed clinical cases to widen the horizons of Orthodontics by performing Pre-Implant Orthodontics.
According to Dr Akshay Gupta orthodontic treatment prior to implant placement can be utilized to place implants in better (ideal) position and in many cases eliminate the need of bone grafting thereby increasing the stability and longevity of dental implants. It can also eliminate the need of any additional surgical or bone grafting invasive procedures to be performed on patients.
In the end, Dr Mila Gergor, Belgium Orthodontic Association President presented a certificate of appreciation and Honour to Dr. Akshay.
