JAMMU, July 5:The displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir today held protest demonstration, demanding early disbursement of relief amount announced by the Prime Minister about seven months back.
While demanding justice for the displaced persons from PoJK and other categories of refugees, the activists of PoJK DPs’ Front 1947, 1965, 1971 organised protest programme at Exhibition Ground near Press Club, here today.
The members of displaced families under the leadership of Rachhpal Singh Chib, president assembled near Press Club and started protest rally in the morning. They demanded that process of distribution of Rs 2000 crore package announced by Prime Minister be commenced without any more delay. They pointed out that already seven months have been consumed but package is no where insight. They claimed that this amount can not be treated as full and final package and as many other components of the package, even recommended by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), have been ignored.
The displaced persons including women activists under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir PoJK DPs Front-1947, 65 & 71 held strong protest and issued warning to the Government not to befool the refugees any more. They said that the notification issued by the State authorities is not suitable and moreover, very complex system has been devised to prepare the papers. They demanded that the system should be simplified and notification issued should be the DC be amended.
Mr Chib said that Government ignored many families and left out people should also be included in the list. The DPs’ leader though lauded Prime Minister, Modi for announcing Rs 2000 crore financial package for them but claimed that it was incomplete as other issues with regard to political, social, education and reservation etc for their wards were set aside and not included in the package.
He alleged that there was no clarity in PM’s package and all type of displaced persons were still confused over it. The officials concerned in the Revenue Department were not cooperating to get the old record from their respective offices, he added.
