DPRs not prepared for 20 months

JAMMU, Jan 23: Twenty months is not a sufficient period for the PDP-BJP Coalition Government to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of six bridges.
This can be gauged from the written reply furnished by Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction to the question of Congress MLA from Leh, Nawang Rigzin Jora in the Legislative Assembly.
A total of 6 bridges were damaged due to breach of Phuktal artificial lake in Zanskar Sub-Division of Kargil district in May 2015. The lake was created due to blockade of Phuktal river following massive landsides.
“To rebuild these 6 damaged bridges, the Detailed Project Reports aggregating an amount of Rs 15 lakh are under process under Prime Minister’s Development Programme (PMDP)”, the Minister said without giving any specific time-frame for start of work on the bridges.
