JAMMU, May 22: Minister for Cooperatives, Chering Dorjey, took stock of working of JAKFED with senior officers.
Dorjey had a detailed review of every parameter of functioning of the Federation besides assessing the flaws in the existing system.
Reaffirming Government’s endeavour of bringing in accountability and transparency at all levels, the Minister said that every effort would be made to streamline functioning of the federation for larger benefit of people. He exhorted upon the authorities to put in strenuous efforts and ensure the organization is made a vibrant unit. He asked them to identify the impediments in smooth functioning of the federation so that an effective mechanism is evolved to strengthen the credibility of the organization.
Managing Director, JAKFED, Bilal Ahmed Bhat highlighted various issues regarding revival of Federation, which included formation of JAKFED Board, utilization of idle properties by giving value addition and conversion on the latest model, participation in State Government institutions like tourism, health, social welfare and industries and utilization of excess staff in newly established administrative units.
He also apprised the Minister that profits earned are less against the targets as the supplies to various departments were affected due to flash floods and non release of funds by various departments.
Among others General Manager, Faiz Ahmad Khalil, Assistant General Manager, Mukesh Damral and Senior Manager, Anil Gupta were present on the occasion.
