JAMMU, Dec 19: Doon International School, Jammu, amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation celebrated its third Annual Day ‘Navras-2017-18’; projecting a gamut of nine integral human emotions through a glittering bonanza of an impressive spectacle exhibited by the talented DABS of Doon International School, Jammu in General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, here.
Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Minister for Education, graced the occasion as the chief guest while Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Vice Chairman, Handicrafts & Handloom Cooperation & General Secretary PDP and Farooq Ahmed Shah, Secretary to the Govern-ment, Department of School Education were the guests of honour.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Ravinder Singh (Director School Education, Jammu), Vijay Puri (Educationist), Jagadish Singh Dhami (President Sahodaya Schools Complex, Jammu Chapter), Abdul Qayoom Wani (President Employees Joint Action Committee) and Showkat Hussain Khan (Chairman, Doon International School, Srinagar).
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest. Vikesh Kaur, Principal Doon International School, Jammu, formally welcomed the eminent dignitaries and rendered the Annual Report of the school highlighting the incredible accomplishments of the students and the institution throughout the year 2017.
This was followed by the Academic and Endowment Awards presented by the Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bukhari said that the entire programme was meticulously planned and executed by the entire team of DIS, Jammu which showcased the commendable grandeur of Doon International School, Jammu.
The cultural programme began with a melodious and mellifluous welcome song by the teachers followed by an orchestration symphony which was a soul-stirring depiction of a vocal and instrumental harmony.
Chairman, GN Tantray, Principal Vikesh Kaur and Vice Chairman MA Tantray were present on the occasion.
The vote of thanks was presented by the Vice Principal, Mamta Chopra.
The event was coordinated by the Chief Coordinator Sarita Moza Kaul, Activity Coordinator Rachana Khanna, Academic Coordinator Gomti Sharma & Megha Kohli.
