NEW DELHI, June 10: Domestic passenger car sales grew 7.73 per cent to 1,60,067 units in May, from 1,48,577 units in the year-ago month.
Motorcycle sales last month declined 3.04 per cent to 9,53,322 units, from 983,210 units a year earlier, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Total two-wheeler sales in May slumped 1.25 per cent to 13,80,950 units.
However, sales of commercial vehicles grew 3.95 per cent to 48,841 units in May, SIAM said.
Vehicle sales across categories registered a decline of 0.58 per cent to 16,83,962 units, from 16,93,740 units in May 2014, it added. (PTI)
