JAMMU, Dec 23: Celebrating three days special campaign on ‘Dogri Manata Divas’, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged today series of Dogri musical concert “Khand Mithe Log Dogre” in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of Computer Education at Rehearsal Hall Durga Bhawan Janipur, here today.
The musical play was written and directed by Dr ML Dogra. The program was inaugurated by chief guest Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K, while the guests of honor were VK Magotra, former Regional Director, of Directorate of Field Publicity, GoI, JK Raina, producer- director films and Dr Anju Dogra.
During the programme songs including “Sara Duggar Desh Mahan”, ” Khand Mithe Log Dogre”, Desh Sadra Dogra Te Mithi Ae Dogri Juban”, ‘Boliyan De Kande Laga Jobne Da Mela’ and others were sung by the artists which were composed by renowned music teacher, Raju Bajgal.
The chief guest highlighted the struggle of Dogra’s and renowned artists of Doordarshan , Radio, Cultural Academy , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan for Dogri language and strongly advocated for Duggar channel by Doordarshan for promotion of Duggar culture.
Earlier, welcoming the audience VK Magotra also highlighted the story of the play and said that the 22nd December is a historical day for Dogras when the mother tongue Dogri language was recognized and was included in the 8th Schedule of Constitution in 2003.
Dr ML Dogra lauded the role of writers for their continuous struggle to keep the language relevant which led to its inclusion in the 8th Schedule.
The singers, musicians, actors and students who performed in the musical play were Raju Bajgal, Chahat Chadha, Rajneet, Rakshanda Bhat, Ansh Kumar, Vandana Gupta, Bodh Raj, Jiya Barua, Sunil Kumar and Sant Dass.
