JAMMU, Sept 12: 114th meeting of General Council of Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K was held at Dogra Hall here. The meeting was attended by a number of people who included representatives of the Sabha from all the districts of Jammu, members of business community, Kissan and Chowkidar/Numberdars of Jammu province.
Dogra Sadar Sabha gave a clarion call to the people of Jammu region/Duggar Pradesh to rise to the occasion and unitedly thwart the evil designs of the inimical forces who are bent upon destroying the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and alienate the Dogras from the scene by destroying their heritage, culture and secular character.
“Dogras have already suffered a lot from the last few decades being patriots and nationalists, but it seems that anti Dogra forces have now launched the final attack on their culture, economic resources, heritage, secularism and weakening the political leadership of this region in a planned manner. Even they have not spared the most sensitive religious issues of the people. Whole of Jammu province has become the clear target of the enemies from inside and outside the State,” the meet observed.
Doogra Sadar Sabha General Body Council demanded that Dogras of Jammu should be associated in any future confabulations on all issues affecting the state of Jammu & Kashmir including resolution of Kashmir issue.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak who chaired the meeting explained to the gathering the circumstances under which he had to resign and quit the Congress Party which had become the main hurdle in fighting for the cause of Jammu region. Abdul Gani Vakil who has also resigned from the party dealt in detail with the party affairs in the State which has compelled them to leave.
A protest rally was also taken out at this occasion through main Bazars in the City. The president, DSS appealed to the people of Jammu to rise above party politics, caste and creed and be ready to offer any sacrifice to save the Dogra region from the ongoing onslaught by the anti Dogra forces.
Sabha has decided to start an awareness campaign to awaken the Dogras by organizing various programmes throughout the Jammu region and a delegation of Sabha will soon meet the President of India and apprise him about the discrimination and other issues being faced by nationalist forces in the State, the meet decided.
Prominent among others who addressed the rally include Prof. N. K. Dogra, Prem Sagar Gupta, included Brig. (Retd.) M. S. Jamwal, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak and Kulbir Singh.
