Dogra Sadar Sabha convenes meeting

BISHNAH, Apr 5: A meeting of Dogra Sadar Sabha was convened at Bishnah under the chairmanship of Dr O P Saini, which was attended by Gulchain Singh Charak, president, Dogra Sadar Sabha, as a special invitee. People from both the tehsils of Bishnah and Arnia comprising of Panchs, Sarpanchs, Numberdars and Chowkidars of border areas participated.
The meeting upheld that farmers of the areas are complaining that de-silting of canal was not being done properly and the silt is being dumped on the banks of canals without proper disposal thereby defeating the very purpose of de-silting as the silt again gets deposited in the canal beds. The crop insurance scheme which has been announced by the Government should be implemented immediately.
The issue of land records/ (Lathas) are not available in the area and immediate preparation of Lathas is required in order to reduce the litigations, due to land disputes.
Regularization of daily wagers was highlighted.  The dilapidated condition of Degree College Bishnah requires immediate attention of the Government, they said.
