SAMBA, Dec 29: JKNPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh and general secretary Yashpaul Kundal today said while Jammu region continued to be neglected and deprived by successive state Governments in the past, the Dogra pride and honour received the deadliest blows during the saffron rule in the State and the Centre.
“Whereas the BJP rule witnessed slew of measures announced for stone-pelters with benefits of SRO-43 and ex-gratia, rehabilitation policies for surrendered militants including unilateral ceasefire, FIRs against armed forces, shelving of Sainik Colony and KP Composite Township projects, grant of lion’s share in recruitments to Kashmir youth, sanction of whopping Rs 15881 crore for Kashmir metro for appeasement of separatists, the issues of Jammu region contrarily were relegated to the background during the 3½ year saffron rule,” said Harsh Dev while addressing a huge public rally in Ramgarh area.
He said the intentions of BJP became abundantly clear at the beginning itself when it failed to incorporate any of its election promises in the Agenda of Alliance (AOA) and rather gave legitimacy to the bizarre slogans of ‘Jhelum Valley’ and ‘Pir Panchal regions’ by mentioning them in the common minimum programme of the Government and thereafter started the process of demeaning and diminishing of Jammu by denying it not only its legitimate share in employment, development etc.
Yashpaul Kundal called upon the people to strengthen Panthers Party as it alone could satisfy the urges and aspirations of the people of Dogra land. He cautioned the people to beware of BJP which had betrayed the border area residents despite having been repeatedly voted in Parliamentary, Assembly and even in local bodies polls. He said that it was time to give a befitting reply to such political parties which had been tried and tested and had failed to redeem their election time promises. He said that NPP was fast emerging as an alternative and would sweep all seats of Samba district in the coming elections.
