JAMMU, Dec 6: Three- day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) and Student Capacity Enhancement Programme on “Micro Teaching Skills, Lesson Planning based on Herbartian and RCEM Approaches” concluded today at Dogra Educational Complex.
In collaboration with Govt College of Education, Jammu, the programme was organized by IQAC of Dogra College of Education. Asst Prof Sushma Bala from Govt College of Education, Jammu, was the resource person on the occasion.
The motive of conducting the programme was to foster the professional development of the faculty and capacity enhancement of the teacher trainees.
The resource person talked about the micro teaching skills such as the Skill of Stimulus Variation, Questioning, Reinforcement, Demonstration etc and said that these skills play a vital role in the development of knowledge among the teachers and students.
The resource person also explained the Herbartian and RCEM approach. She explained the Bloom’s Taxonomy and 17 mental abilities through power point presentation and explained the said approach with the help of a lesson plan.

In the valedictory session, Dr Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, DCE said that there should be proper use of these skills in the real classroom teaching .
A formal vote of thanks was proposed by Indu Puri, Sr Lecturer, DCE, and the member IQAC.
Dr Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, DCE and Dr Shefali Sharma, Coordinator, IQAC and the resource person distributed the certificates to all the participants. The Programme was compeered by Arushi Sharma, Secretary, Student Council & student member, IQAC.
