Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha organizes function

JAMMU, Apr 28: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha today organized a function to formally convey its gratitude to Member Parliament, Legislators and prominent leaders from the community for getting Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti declared as public holiday by the State Government.
MP Madan Lal Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Pt Mangat Ram Sharma, MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria, MLA Nagrota Jugal Kishore, MLA Bishnah Ashwani Sharma, Ex-MLA Pt Dev Dutt Sharma, Justice (Retd) G D Sharma and other prominent leaders attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal Sharma appealed the Brahman community to remain united. He stressed that the sincere efforts should be made to include more and more persons from the community to participate in such functions, which provide platform for highlighting the genuine demands and concerns. He also assured all possible support to the Brahman Sabha for cause of the community in future also.
Pt Mangat Ram Sharma and MLAs Ashwani Sharma and Jugal Kishore also extended their full cooperation to the Sabha for its efforts to highlight the concerns of Brahman community. They said that the credit goes to Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha for getting Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti declared as public holiday by the State Government.
Earlier, president of DBPS Ved Parkash Sharma threw light on various activities of the Brahman Sabha and informed that an impressive Rath Yatra would be taken out in Jammu on May 13 on the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti. He appealed all members of the Brahman community to participate in the Rath Yatra and other programmes of the Jayanti.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included Jagdish Raj Dogra, Parshotam Sharma, S N Sharma, K K Sharma, Chander Mohan Sharma, Munish Sharma, and office bearers of the Sabha.
