UDHAMPUR, Mar 31: Union Minister and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary constituency Dr Jitendra Singh today asked the Congress Party to explain whether it endorses the National Conference (NC) stand questioning the air strike on Balakot.
Dr Jitendra Singh addressed a series of massively attended Panchayat-level meetings in the Udhampur Assembly segment where, on each spot, he was warmly received by enthusiastic supporters who were seen physically lifting him on their shoulders from the roadside up to the venue of the meeting.
Referring to the National Conference patriarch Farooq Abdullah’s statement expressing doubts about the reliability of Balakot air strike, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Congress Party which claims to be a national party, but is contesting the present election in alliance with the National Conference, will have to explain its position to the whole of country.
As far as the BJP ideology is concerned, Dr Jitendra Singh said, each of us has been taught never to question the patriotism or the credibility of the Indian Army or the security forces because we are eternally indebted to their supreme sacrifices and it is a sin to raise question marks on the credibility of our security forces.
However, he said, one of our Karyakartas has suggested that since the brave-heart Pilot Capt. Abhinandan is back on duty, the next time when he carries out an air-strike in Pakistan, the National Conference and Congress leaders who are keen to clear their doubts, should be allowed to accompany him and get air-dropped there to verify whether the terrorists are dead or not.
Enumerating various development works that took place in the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda constituency during the last five years, Dr Jitendra Singh challenged to prove that the work done in last five years is more than the total amount of development activity over the last 65 years. He said, it is an irony that while the youth all over the constituency have launched a social media campaign by the name #SelfieWithDevelopment, which has gone viral and wherein the youth are fondly seen taking a selfie with each of the development projects of the last five years, the Congress and its allies are in a denial mode and unable to accept what the people of constituency have already accepted and appreciated.
Appealing for 100% polling on 18th April, Dr Jitendra Singh said, while the common people are impatient to vote for BJP, the leaders of the Congress and its allies are making futile attempts to dissuade people from doing so. He said, he was confident that this time, even the family members of the Congress leaders are going to vote for Modi and BJP.
Amidst continuous chanting of “Narendra Modi Zindabad” and “Dr Jitendra Singh Zindabad”, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the election this time will not only ensure a second-term for Modi and BJP, but would establish, once and for all, that the new political culture of transparency and honesty with development for all, will be the foundation of “New India” and shall mark the end of the era of family rule, nepotism, corruption and exploitation.
Former Minister Pawan Gupta and senior BJP leaders accompanied Dr Jitendra Singh during the day-long whirlwind tour in the Udhampur Assembly segment.
