Documentary film of Police Academy ‘Bravehearts in Barret’ released

UDHAMPUR, June 6: A colourful cultural programme was organized on the eve of passing out parade of Probation DySPs and Probation Sub Inspectors at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy here today.
During the function, a documentary film of Police Academy Udhampur titled “Bravehearts in Barret” was released by Director General of Police, J&K.
The concept of this project was initially put forth by Inspector Ashok Kumar Sharma Paras of the Police Academy.
Ashok Paras who is a known Urdu poet, has authored the script of this documentary film and also directed the videography, Ramesh Marhatha, Senior Broadcaster AIR has done the voice over, camera by Jasbir Singh and Ankush Saproo and background music composed by Kuldeep Saproo.
This creative work is unique in nature and a making of an asset of archival value about the Academy. It took about ten months to complete the project. The faculty members and trainees of the Academy can be seen performing various activities in the film. The crew worked under the supervision of Dr SD Singh Jamwal, Director SKPA Udhampur during the making of this training film and approvals have been accorded by Dilbag Singh, DGP.
While releasing the documentary film, the DGP J&K appreciated this piece of creative work and hoped that this film will prove as a guideline for the new entrants of the department at the very beginning. It will familiarize them about the available resources in the Police Academy and the opportunities they can avail so that they could develop a competitive spirit and as such, this will help them to lay out a solid foundation for their career by using the available resources fully and explore their capabilities to their best potential.
During the programme, a number of cultural items were presented by the trainees and other artists from outside the Academy.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP J&K congratulated the trainee officers for successful completion of their basic training at this Academy and wished them successful career ahead.
Mohd Suleman, DIG Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar, SSP Udhampur, Mohan Lal, SSP, DD (Indoor/Training), VK Jamwal, SSP, DD (Outdoor), Vinay Kumar, SSP, DD (Admn), other Gazetted and Non-Gazetted officers, trainees and staff of the Academy were present on the occasion.
