Doctors at Sarwal hospital perform complicated operation

JAMMU, Aug 3: The doctors at Sarwal hospital performed a complicated operation of a patient who suffered Maxillofacial injuries in a road accident recently.
As per a handout issued by the Hospital, a patient, Anil Kumar, 27  R/o Talab Tillo Jammu suffered Maxillofacial injuries and was operated at Government Hospital Sarwal. He sustained multiple fractures of face due to road accident. Patient was operated after a Neurosurgical clearance and evaluation by anaesthetist, multiple fractures of face were fixed with bone plates and screws.
A team of doctors comprising  of Dr. Gaurav Gupta (Maxillofacial Surgeon) consultant Dentistry, Dr. Arun Arora & Dr. Bimla Bhagat consultant Anesthetists and superintendent,  OT Technician S. Jasvinder Singh and other staff members performed the complicated operation.  The patient is recovering at Government Hospital Sarwal at present, the handout said.
The handout said incident of Maxillofacial injuries are increasing day by day and treating them is a challenging job. Many a time these injuries are associated with other injuries and a multi disciplinary approach is needed.
In road traffic accidents mostly the facial bones are fractured. These surgeries are  performed routinely at Government Hospital Sarwal, here where the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Renu Sharma constantly encourages the staff with moral and technical support, the handout added.
