LOS ANGELES, Oct 3: A spin-off of the popular British science-fiction TV series “Doctor Who”, titled “Class” is in works at BBC Three.
The young-adult contemporary series is set in London and features the Coal Hill School, a key location in the long-running sci-fi adventure series.
“Class” hails from author Patrick Ness, the writer of novels like the “Chaos Walking” trilogy and “A Monster Calls”, reported The Wrap.
The eight-episode series will film in the spring in Wales and air in 2016.
“No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we’re bringing his brilliant storytelling into Doctor Who. This is growing up in modern Britain – but with monsters,” “Doctor Who” creator Steven Moffat said.
“Class” is described as “Coal Hill School and Doctor Who like you’ve never seen it before.”
The spin-off will air next year. (PTI)
