Sir,
This has reference to the news regarding patients-doctors scuffle at GMCH.
This has happened once again this time after a long interval. There is urgent need to address this issue before it may take some ugly twist some day in the future. The doctor fraternity that works under severe pulls and pressures faces the wrath of attendents off and on. The ugly situation arises when attendants feel that they are not being listened to, or their patient is not being attended to properly by the doctors working in the emergency. On the other hand, doctors feel that they are working in difficult conditions and there are chances that lapses may occur. The misunderstanding between the two groups ultimately results in fiasco. The way out of this situation is that the number of doctors and para medical staff be increased. Besides sufficient medicines and other machinery be provided in the hospital so that doctors do not feel constrained and handicapped to provide satisfactory service to needy patients : on the other hand attendants and patients too should understand the constraints of the doctors and cooperate with them in trying circumstances.
Yours etc….
