JAMMU, Mar 25: Police on Saturday booked relatives of a patient admitted in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu after a video went viral wherein they (attendants of the patient) could be seen beating a doctor with fist blows and kicks.
“We have taken cognisance of the matter and registered a case FIR number 50/2023 under sections 353, 504 of the IPC at Police Station Bakshi Nagar,” SHO concerned, Vishal Shoor told the Excelsior.
Pertinently, attendants of a patient admitted in GMC Jammu approached an on-duty Post Graduate (Medicine) first year student, Dr Himanshu, for some medical care related help on Friday, which according to them (attendants) was denied.
Followed by this, they entered into a verbal brawl with the doctor and later attacked him with fist blows and kicks. The video of the incident was recorded by some other PGs. After it went viral, police swung into action and booked the accused under relevant sections of the law.
