JAMMU, Mar 5: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman accompanied by Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Dr Jitendra Singh will visit Hiranagar sector of Kathua district on March 7.
Sources said the Defence Minister will inaugurate a bridge constructed by the Army in Hiranagar sector.
They added that earlier the visit was scheduled for last week but due to escalated tension between India and Pakistan in view of air strikes, it was postponed.
“All arrangements have been put in place and if all goes well, Sitharaman is likely to visit Hiranagar on Thursday,’’ sources said and added that she may also visit Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on the Line of Control (LoC) to review the situation in the wake of continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan army.
