Leh, Dec 17: District Magistrate Leh Parasanna Sawama G who is also the Chairman District Disaster Management authority convened the meeting of various Central/ State Government agencies functioning in the district to review the existing District Management Plan and response preparedness of all concerned.
With the Threat of natural and manmade disasters including armed conflict with hostile neighbors looming large over the environmentally venerable border district, this exercise assumes significance deficiencies like the lack of an extensive decision and communication network for the district. The availability and requirement of logistic and skilled man power to handle disaster situation was pointed out and solutions was arrived at.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Leh Dr Sunil Gupta Add District Magistrate, Leh, representatives of Indian Army, Indian Air force, ITBP among others.
