Katra, Feb 2: Principal District Sessions Judge and Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Kamlesh Pandit today distributed books, clothes, uniforms and other essential items among kids earlier involved with picking rags at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Katra.
He was accompanied by Secretary DLSA, Anjum Ara and Chief Education Officer Reasi, Mushtaq Ahmad.
Essentials were distributed among 50 kids at the occasion. These children have been admitted into various schools of block Katra.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman said that education is the birthright of every child and all efforts will be made that no child is left behind. He also said that more children are going to benefit in other parts of the district in future.
It is pertinent to mention that a District Level Nodal Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Education Officer Reasi has been set to enroll and look after such underprivileged kids into schools. ZEOs are to coordinate at Zonal level in the mission.
District Legal Services Authority has also decided to organise awareness programmes for the benefit of these children. The kids will also be vaccinated against life endangering diseases.
