DLSA celebrates National Legal Services Day

JAMMU, Nov 8: District Legal Services Authority, Reasi under the chairmanship of KS Parihar, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Reasi celebrated National Legal Services Day today in the District Court complex Reasi.
On the occasion a legal awareness camp and Lok Adalat were held. The camp was attended by KS Parihar Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Reasi, Sunit Gupta, Sub-Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Reasi, Anjana Rajput, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Reasi, Jyoti Bhagat, Munsiff JMIC Reasi, Shiv Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Daljeet Singh, Tehsildar Reasi, Naib Tehsildar Reasi MM Sharma, Public Prosecutor RK Sharma, VK Sharma, PD Singh, Sunil Sharma, Pawan Khajuria, Raj Kumar advocates and retainer lawyers, para legal volunteers and large number of persons.
Speaking on the occasion, KS Parihar threw light on Right to Education Act and economically backward quota in public schools, Mental Health Act, NALSA scheme, Legal Services to Mentally ill Persons with Mental Disabilities.
He appraised the gathering about Rights of Mentally ill persons, Powers and duties of Police Officers in respect of mentally ill persons, provisions regarding appointing guardian of mentally ill persons and appointment of manager for management of property of mentally ill persons and duties of guardian and manager etc.
Parihar also made people aware about Lok-Adalats, Pre-litigation system and, different schemes launched by NALSA and SLSA for the benefit of people.
He assured the public to provide instant legal services to poor, senior citizens, women and children, mentally disabled persons.
Parihar appealed the people to come forward and avail maximum benefit of such schemes.
Sunit Gupta Sub-Judge Chief Judicial Magistrate Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Reasi, Anjana Rajput Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Reasi, Jyoti Bhagat Munsiff JMIC Reasi RK Sharma, VK Sharma, PD Singh, Sunil Sharma, Pawan Khajuria, Raj Kumar advocates also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion, a Lok Adalat was also held in which 45 cases were taken and 10 cases were decided.
