RAJOURI, Nov 14: District Level Coordination cum Screening Committee (DLCSC) headed by District Magistrate cleared 90 cases, involving militancy related incidents, cross-border shelling and communal violence, for ex-gratia relief and compensation for payment to affected families and NoKs.
The meeting attended by SSP Yougal Manhas, ADM Abdul Qayoom Mir, PO ICDS Mohd Rashid, SDMs, COs of Army, CRPF, BSF, security agencies, CMO, DSWO and other officers held threadbare discussions on the case and all the cases were cleared for compensation and other relief measures as well as employment.
In case of losses due to cross-border shelling 44 cases involving damage to residential houses and 18 cases involving loss of livestock were cleared for compensation, 12 cases under SRO-43 involving payment of cash compensation and employment were approved apart from 8 other cases involving injuries and death cases.
It is pertinent to mention that district administration earlier cleared more than 72 cases under SRO-43 which were pending since last more than 20 years. In the DLCSC meeting 12 more cases were cleared for benefit under SRO-43 thereby clearing the pendency in district. The cases cleared by DLCSS pertained to the period 1993 to 2008 and one case of 2015.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary while reviewing the cases directed the concerned officers for ensuring timely compensation in all such cases. The committee cleared payment to 6 cases of communal violence in the district wherein immovable property was damaged.
The cases were considered and cleared under various schemes including scheme for families affected due to communal violence, Central Government scheme for compensation to families affected by LWE and militancy, SRO-43, SRE and SDRF.
