Divisive politics detrimental for State: Motton

JAMMU, Aug 17: National Conference (NC) candidate from R S Pura Constituency, Romesh Motton today castigated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for inciting passions on trivial issues, saying politics of divide is detrimental for a sensitive State like Jammu and Kashmir.
“Unity in diversity is strength of J&K and this ethos has to be maintained at all costs”, he said while addressing workers at Chak Sherian this afternoon.
Motton said NC has all along strived for strengthening the bonds of amity and brotherhood between various communities and referred to the great role played by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah in this regard.
He said the mission of NC to serve the people has been given further impetus by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who worked tirelessly during the past nearly six years in ameliorating the lot of people living in all the three regions of the State.
He exhorted the workers to apprise the people about the initiatives taken in the three regions to enhance the living conditions of people and exuded confidence that NC will register a massive win in the ensuing elections and form a stable Government in the State.
