This has reference to the news item ‘Diversification in agriculture’ DE FEb. 21.
The diversification in agriculture is need of the hour and it should be considered by the stakeholders.
In case there is no diversification, agriculture sector will receive the least importance. Presently, it engages a vast population of the country providing them bread and butter. In case attention is not paid to it, these people will be compelled by circumstances to shift to other sectors for livelihood.
The Govenrment should encourage people to go for diversification. This will be possible only if the Government extends them facilities by way of technical expertise, monetary assistance and makets.
The farmers should be involved in marketing their produce otherwise, middlemen will make their life miserable.
