Div Com reviews status of upcoming mega projects

JAMMU, July 23: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today reviewed the status of various mega projects being executed in Jammu at a high level meeting of officers.
The meeting had a detailed review of present status of work on multi-tier parking at Bus Stand, Chenab Water Supply Scheme, Seed Multiplication Farm at Chokrohi, Industrial Estate Jammu, New Legislature Complex, Bahu-Mubarak Mandi Ropeway Project, Tawi Barrage project, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, Sidhra Golf Course, Jammu sewerage project, four laning of Satwari-Kunjwani Road, Convention Centre Jammu and development of Tawi front.
Regarding construction of Jammu Ropeway project, it was informed by the concerned authorities that work on the project has been started and is in progress. Divisional Commissioner directed the executing agency to redouble the pace for early completion of this project.
While reviewing the status of construction of Tawi Barrage project, Divisional Commissioner strictly directed the concerned authorities to ensure that gates are put in place by December, 2015.
Director Agriculture informed the meeting that most of the work on seed multiplication centre has been completed.
Divisional Commissioner stressed for adhering to the SDRF norms and guidelines while executing works under SDRF for timely release of funds.
Dr. Kotwal underlined the need for adopting professional approach while executing various developmental projects and cautioned the concerned departments against delay in meeting the deadline.
He also directed the concerned officers to ensure that requirement of power and water in these ongoing mega projects is provided to Chief Engineer Electrical M&RE Jammu and Chief Engineer PHE Jammu for smooth completion of these projects. Divisional Commissioner also asked the officers to prepare a detailed list of issues needed to be taken up at the administrative level.
Among others the meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, Director Tourism, Jammu, R K Varma and Director Agriculture Jammu.
