JAMMU, Feb 9: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the progress on construction of bunkers along International Border at a meeting of DCs of border districts of Jammu.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar was present in the meeting along with senior officers of the concerned departments. DC Poonch Rahul Yadav and officers from district Samba, Kathua and Rajouri attended the meeting through video conference.
DC Jammu apprised that more that 300 bunkers are completed and on more than 200 bunkers work is under progress. Concerned officers from Kathua District apprised that work on 569 individual bunkers is in progress and 337 have been completed.
Officers from Samba, Rajouri and Poonch apprised the Div Com about the status of construction of bunkers in their respective districts. They informed about the work being done by executing agencies in their respective districts so far and also shared future plan with Div Com.
The Div Com directed the concerned officers to get a time limit from the contractors of their respective districts and chalk out strategy for expediting the work. He asked the concerned departments to draft a strategy for early completion of work and make activity calendar and share progress on works with respective DCs.
Earlier, Div Com convened a meeting to review the development of Patnitop, Batote, Sanasar and its adjoining areas as tourist hub as well as medical destination. He directed the officers present in the meeting for demarcation of land, both private and Government, where infrastructure can be developed for medicity.
On construction of international stadium at Batote, he directed to constitute a committee that will visit the area to identify the suitable land for the construction of sports stadium. He asked the PDA to expand the area of Tulip Garden at Sanasar and directed the Director Floriculture to prepare a proposal for the same.
On the issue of power and water supply in higher reaches of the district, he directed the DC Ramban to hold a meeting with the concerned officers to create additional structure to address the issues of electricity and water.
He also reviewed the stock positioning of LPG, Petroleum products, Kerosene and food grain in Doda and Kishtwar Districts. He directed the concerned officers to keep adequate stock of essential commodities along with medicines so that common people do not face any kind of problem in this winter season.
