Div Com reviews pace of development projects

SRINAGAR Dec 17: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today conducted an extensive tour of Srinagar city and reviewed the progress of various ongoing developmental works undertaken by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA).
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, officers from Police, Revenue ERA and Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.
The Divisional Commissioner inspected under-construction Rawalpora-Chanapora drainage project and was informed that the work would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 148.83 crore by May 2017.
He also inspected ongoing work on Rs 262 crore Rambagh-Jehangir Chowk flyover project and directed the officials to ensure judicious use of funds besides stressed them to speed up the pace of work for its timely completion.
While reviewing the construction of Mehjoor Nagar Bridge which is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 45 crore, the Div Com asked the ERA officials to complete the wok within the fixed deadline so that the public gets benefited.
Later, Khan inspected the pace of dredging work from Rambagh Flood Channel. He directed the officials to constitute a monitoring squad to keep a check on illegal dredging.
