Div Com reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements

SRINAGAR, Apr 20: Arrangements for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2013 scheduled to commence from June 28 were reviewed during a high level meeting of officers convened under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Shalindra Kumar here today.
Chief Executive Officer, Shrine Board, Naveen Kumar Choudhary was also present in the meeting.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Itrat Hussain Rafique, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, besides Chief Engineers of PHE, PMGSY, R&B and PDD along with Directors of various departments participated in the meeting.
Senior officers of Police, Army and CRPF also attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and various aspects related to the commencement of Yatra, registration, accommodation, medicare facilities, ration, transport facilities, boarding and lodging facilities, provision of safe drinking water, sanitation and cleanliness besides establishment of control rooms at all the halting stations, ATM and communication facilities were also deliberated upon in the meeting.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir emphasized upon the officers work with coordination and enthusiasm to put in place all the arrangements upto June 10, 2013. He stressed for adequate stocks of essentials, medicare facilities and ensuring cleanliness enroute stations to the Holi Cave.
Mr. Kumar also directed for clearance of track from Pahalgam as well as Baltal sides well before May 25, 2013 and asked for better communication facilities to be made available at all the stations.
It was also decided that joint control rooms will be set up at Pahalgam and Baltal, besides weather advisory will be issued after every 3 hours by the Metrology Department for the convenience of Yatris.
The Divisional Commissioner also asked all the officers of concerned departments to submit the actual Yatra plan well before May 5, 2013.
Chief Executive Officer, Naveen Kumar Choudhary assured that all the facilities will be made available to the yatries and the concerned departments will project their requirements well before time for smooth conduct of the yatra. He also emphasized for the registration of langar walas at specified location.
