SRINAGAR, Dec 12: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shalindera Kumar today ordered a time bound inquiry into the ambulance halt issue which led to death of a man two days ago in North Kashmir.
The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla has been asked to submit his report within two days. Yesterday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asked for looking into the matter.
Relatives of an 80-year-old man Abdul Rahim Dar claimed that he died as he could not reach the hospital on time as the ambulance was halted for about half an hour by Mobile Magistrate at Seelu Sopore on December 10.
Dar had a serious cardiac condition and was referred to a super specialty Srinagar hospital by a Handwara hospital. However, Manzoor Ahmad Khan, the Mobile Magistrate North Kashmir said: “The ambulance which was halted for five minutes was not ferrying any patient but few passengers including a woman.”
