Leh, Sept 17: Div Com Ladakh Saugat Biswas chaired a meeting to review the availability of food items and other necessary requirements for winter stocking in both Leh and Kargil in his office chamber today.
DC, Leh Sachin Kumar, Addl Com to Div Com Tashi Dolma, Animal Husbandry Officer, Dy Registrar Cooperative, AD CA&PD, DFO, SE PDD, representative IOCL, FCI and HP Gas were present in the meeting. DC, Kargil Baseer Ul Haq and other officers also attended the meeting through video conferencing.
Div Com enquired in detail from the departments about item wise stocking position for winter months. He sought details from the officers about the current status of availability of consumer items. He gave a time line of mid October to get all winter stocking done for all food items including PDS rice, wheat and kerosene oil, cooperative food commodities like butter, refined oil, condensed milk, dal, spices etc.
Biswas instructed DC, Leh and DFO, Leh to ensure safety storage of fire wood maintaining the quality and to plan out its timely distribution once the stocking is completed by 2nd week of October. He directed SE PDD to follow up with Ladakh Affairs Department for release of sanctioned T&D funds to ensure timely acquiring of poles, connectors etc well on time.
For poultry products like eggs, he instructed to complete the winter stocking by end of October and urged the DCs to utilize the services of cold storage in Leh for stocking of non-vegetarian items. He directed AH Officer to take up the issue of purchase of veterinary medicines with DC and resolve it at the quickest.
