JAMMU, Dec 21: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu today convened a meeting to discuss the issue of collection of user fee of Toll Plaza at km. 43.65 near Rajbag District Kathua and 2nd Toll Plaza at Km 88.3 near Thandi Khui in District Samba on Pathankot-Jammu section of National Highway (New NH-44) here today.
The meeting was attended by DIG Jammu-Kathua Range Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DC Kathua Jitendra Kumar Singh, DC Samba R. K. Varma, RTO Jammu Arvind Kotwal, RTO Lakhanpur Ajay Sharma, DC Sales Tax Pankaj Magotra, DC Excise Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, SP Traffic Rural Ravi Kant Sharma besides representatives from Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Bus Unions.
Divisional Commissioner had a detailed discussion with representatives of CCI and Local Bus Unions regarding the issues of concession fee/monthly pass to local Bus Operator for toll plaza.
Shantmanu informed that earlier in meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, it was decided that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) user fee collection at Rajbag will be clubbed with State Toll Collection at Lakhanpur Toll Plaza to facilitate the road users
The modalities of collection including provision of multiple journey, monthly passes and exemptions in NHAI user fee will be worked out jointly by the Excise Department and NHAI, the meeting was informed.
