SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a Divisional Level Committee (DLC) convened to discuss land acquisition cases and rehabilitation plan of the Jehangir Chowk-Natipora Express Corridor planned in collaboration with Asian Development Bank funding under Project-2 of Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Infrastructure Programme (JKUSDIP).
The meeting discussed various issues pertaining to land acquisition and compensation to be provided for land and structures coming within the alignment of the proposed flyover.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Collector, Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), Mohammad Aslam Qadri, CEO ERA, Saurab Bhagat, Project Manager JKUSDIP, S L Kapoor, Joint Director Information, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Joint Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Council, Joint Director, Handicrafts, DGM JKPCC, GM JKPCC, Superintendent of Police Traffic and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held in the meeting regarding the works under execution and rehabilitation process taken in hand for relocation of affected shopkeepers with the construction of Jehangir Chowk-Natipora Express Corridor (Flyover).
On this occasion, Dr. Samoon while interacting with the officers directed for speedy completion of the projects related to shopping complexes so that the area gets face lift and affected business community is properly accommodated in a time bound manner besides the early construction of the flyover.
Dr. Samoon urged upon the officers to make allotment of shops on real ground basis with transparency and impartiality. He also emphasized for judicious utilization of funds allotted and also ensure quality work to be executed by the concerned agencies.
Stressing for dedicated and sincere attitude towards execution of work Dr. Samoon asked the officers to maintain the sanctity to attain the tangible targets within the stipulated time frame.
