JAMMU, May 7: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr.Pawan Kotwal chaired a joint meeting of Army authorities and civil administration to discuss the issues related to land and encroachments.
Among others the meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Deepti Uppal, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal, Director Rural Development Jammu, G N Balwan and Army authorities.
The meeting disucssed various issued related to land encroachments including promulgation of gazette notification under work of Defence Act 1903, pending acquisition land cases, pending compensation cases, pending de-requisition land cases, compensation to be paid through direct bank transfers and renotification of FD firing ranges beisdes various other related issues were also discussed comparhensively during the meeting.
Regarding the issue of promulgation of gazette notification under work of Defence Act 1903, Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to issue notifications accordingly.
He also asked the DCs to hold the meetings with Army authorities regularly so that certain issues pending at their level are resolved at an earliest. However, it was also decided to hold Divisional Commissioner level interaction on land matters quarterly.
