DODA, Dec 31: A massive fire broke out in the District Court Complex Bhadarwah today evening.
Fortunately, no casualty was reported as the courts were closed today for winter vacations but the heritage building and a shrine got completely damaged in the devastating fire.
Reportedly the fire broke out today at 7.30 pm. The fire broke out from the main building from Principal District and Session Judge and Sub Judge’s chamber destroying the entire heritage building made of Kedar wood and a shrine of Sufi saint Sain Mooch Maroor, which is located in the complex.
The Fire Brigade quickly came to the rescue trying to bring the massive fire under control, but as the structure was very old and made of dry Kedar wood, it could not be controlled immediately. As per the fire officials, no casualties were reported.
To control the fire, administration also called additional fire tenders from Doda. After hectic efforts of the firemen, the fire was doused completely around 10 pm.
According to Deputy SP Bhaderwah Abdul Gafoor, the fire broke out probably due to short circuit.
