KUPWARA, July 2: District Administration Kupwara today issued circular instructions for vacation of Government accommodation from illegal occupants.
The direction in this regard has been issued for facilitating accommodation to the officers/officials working in the district who have not been allotted accommodation as of now due to occupation of Government quarters by non-officials and officers who have been transferred from the district.
As per the circular, “it has been observed that some non officials have managed to possess the Government accommodation in the district. Besides various officers/officials who were transferred from the district long back are still in possession of the Government accommodation allotted to them. Moreover it has also been brought to the notice of the office of District Magistrate that there are some officers/officials, who have taken up unnecessary possession of Government accommodation, resultantly various officers/officials working in the district are facing hardship for want of Government accommodation.”
“Keeping in view of above, it is impressed upon such officers/officials and non officials to vacate the same accommodation and handover the keys of respective quarters in the personal section of DC office within two days. In case of any failure, the possession of accommodation will be taken up and there stock, if any will be seized and put under Government custody. Moreover, action as warranted under law shall be initiated against the defaulters,” the circular warns.
The Executive Engineer R&B, Division Kupwara and Handwara have been directed to paste the copy of the circular on the doors of rooms of occupants and facilitate Tehsildars/Magistrates in the implementation of the circular instructions, if required.
