District-level panels to decide complaints of forest encroachment

JAMMU, Apr 17: For deciding complaints pertaining to the encroachment of forest land/property in Jammu and Kashmir, the UT Government today ordered constitution of Sub-Committees at district level.
Headed by the concerned Deputy Commissioner as the chairman, the sub-committee shall provide regular hearing to the parties and address the complaints in a time bound manner.
The sub-committee shall delete the illegal entries and evict encroachment from forest land. It shall also create data base/proceedings on official website for its access by the end users.
The sub-committee shall be monitored by the UT level committee, constituted vide Government order number 876-JK (GAD) of 2020 dated 19-09-2020. Additional DC, ACR, DFO concerned, Tehsildar concerned are members and Divisional Forest Officer, Territorial Headquarter are members of this cun-committee.
