JAMMU, Apr 22: Distribution of ration and essential items among needy persons continued in various parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy CM and senior BJP leader distributed ration and other essential supplies amongst needy people in Daily Excelsior Lane Janipur Ward Number 36. Deepak Gupta, State Convenor BJP Local Bodies Cell, Vinod Malhotra Secretary Red Cross, Jatinder Gupta, Gopal Thakur, Amar Singh, Raman Thaploo, Raj Kumar, Ajay Raina, Shiv Dev Singh and Karan Singh were among others present on the occasion.
J&K Bank distributed packets of dry food like rice, flour, pulses and other items among the families which were in dire need. The bank’s Zonal Head Kashmir (Central I) Syed Rais Maqbool supervised the distribution process wherein the needy families, identified by the Heads of Business Units/Clusters, from areas i.e. Naidyar, Mehjoor Nagar, Shehr i Khas and Shalimar in Srinagar were provided with the food packs in a safe and hassle-free manner. Meanwhile, in order to serve its customers better and in a safe manner, J&K Bank also pressed an on-site ATM into public service at its business unit Dada Ompora in Chadoora.
CRPF 33 Battalion today distributed face masks and sanitization kits among 125 families at Malwas in Doda.
National Conference leader and former Member Legislative Assembly Kalakote Rachpal Singh distributed ration and other essential item kits to needy families of panchayat Saranoo, Dangri A, Dangri B, Potha, Godhar and Androlla of Rajouri district. Yashu Vardhan Singh, Saddam Malik, Bansi Lal Sharma, Maqbool Hussain, Parvez Khan, Smikey, Ganesh Sharma and many others were also present on this occasion.
Youth Peace Foundation Organization handed over nine hundred washable face masks to Red Cross Society at its Jammu office and one hundred masks to Incharge Police Post Pounichak. They also distributed the masks to general public.
Raw food was distributed to 50 needy families at Panchayat Chorli, Bishnah under the supervision of Kailash Chander. Naib Sarpanch Ranjit Singh, Sushil Singh Charak President of the Nations Development Association, Panch Ward Number 7 Janak Raj, Ratan Lal Panch, Raghuveer Singh, Lali Singh and Shami Singh were among others present on the occasion.
Parshuram Blood Donors team including Nitin Gupta, Rohit Gupta and Prince Sharma distributed dry ration and other needful food items to the poor and needy people at Shivalikpuram, Janipur Colony, Arjun Nagar, Roop Nagar, Dansal, Domail, etc.
2000 masks and 1000 sanitizers were disturbed by Municipal Committee Ramban to citizens. Municipal Committee Chairman Amit Bharti and Deputy Chairman Khalid Wani were among others present on the occasion.
Hindu Jagran Munch Udhampur through its President Rohit Sethi donated dry ration and potatoes to Udhampur Citizens Relief Fund Committee for its further distribution among the masses.
Gandhi Global Family Jammu City distributed necessary ration among the stranded migrant families identified by Police Post Panjtirthi, Jammu. It was distributed by GGF Jammu City Chapter in the presence of GGF Vice President Dr S P Varma at the historic Mubarak Mandi Jammu. GGF Advisor Prof Ramesh Chander, Jaswinder Singh GGF Advisor Jammu City, Raman Sharma GGF Coordinator Jammu City, Rajat Bakshi GGF Member Jammu, Parminder Singh GGF Executive J&K, Prof Rampal, Omesh Soni, Ankush Varma, Raghav Changotra, Bobby Kohli and Amit Varma distributed the relief material to the needy.
Jammu area branches of Muthoot Finance Limited under the guidance of Regional Manager RK Koul and led by Arun Kumar Sharma Branch Manager Shastri Nagar distributed dry ration kits/packets among needy and distressed people at their door step. Inspector Vishav Partap Singh Incharge Police Post Sarwal and SI Sushil Kumar were also present on the occasion.
Youth Congress General Secretary Avjyot Singh along with his team distributed essential commodities among needy people at Nai Basti, Satwari.
President, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School Kadmal Katra Shiv Kumar Sharma distributed fresh vegetables and ration to poor labourers at Panthal road Katra.
With the World Health Organisation (WHO) declaring coronavirus as a pandemic and cases in our country shooting upto 20000 with 640 deaths, the underprivileged & vulnerable groups are at higher risk of infection due to a lack of knowledge & poor access to health care.
VOICE distributed free food and essential commodities of daily use among the needy people living in Jagti migrant camp, Nagrota. Chairperson Dr Rizwan uz Zaman was also present on the occasion.
Jammu team of “We The Human” comprising Ajab Singh Executive Member and Vishavjit Singh handed over ration to Ashraf Ahmad Incharge Police Post Gujjar Nagar for further distribution among the needy families in red zone Gujjar Nagar area. At Rajpura Jammu, ration for twenty families was handed over by Ajab Singh to Rajpura Welfare Committee for further distribution among local roadside vendors and auto/ matador operators without any savings to feed their families in the ongoing prolonged lock down due to COVID19 Pandemic. “We The Human” team also distributed ration among 12 families in distress at Babiliana Jeevan Nagar Satwari.
Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust Jammu provided ration and food items to the needy and deserving people in various parts of sub divisional area Jammu. The first assignment of ration was flagged off by SDM South Srikant Suse and Tehsildar South Rohit Sharma in presence of Abdul Hamid Choudhary, Chairman of the Trust, Shah Mohammad Chowdhary Advocate and Mohammad Yousuf, Treasurer (both Members), while Nasir Ahmed and Gulam Qadir Co-ordinators were also present.
District Administration is continuously making every effort to provide free ration to the migrant labourers in Leh district. In this endeavour, free ration was distributed among 662 migrant labourers at Agling/ Dambuchan, Trgaisliang, Skalzangling, Ibed colony, Murtsey and Norgaisling of Leh city. Soaps and face masks were also distributed among them. Pertinently, the administration, under the directions of District Magistrate Leh Sachin Kumar, is reaching out to every migrant labour in the district to ensure the motto of ‘no one should sleep empty stomach’.
The Hoping Foundation has donated dry ration to Kusht Ashram Society Bhagwati Nagar.
Veena Gupta, former District President BJP Mahila Morcha Jammu West handed over 60 PPE kits and 3000 face masks to the J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar. J&K BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, All Programme Incharge Ajay Pargal, Media Secretary Dr Pardeep Mahotra, Mahila Morcha President Sanjita Dogra, Additional Publicity Secretary Ayodhya Gupta, Yogesh Mahajan and Akash Gupta were also present on the occasion.
BJP OBC Morcha handed over 50 bags of flour and 200 face masks to the J&K BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. Braham Jyot Satti, President OBC MORCHA JK-UT, Yudhvir Sethi Vice President BJP, Munish Sharma All Morcha Incharge, Arvind Gupta State Secretary BJP, Tilak Raj Gupta Office Secretary, Dr Pardeep Mahotra Media Secretary, leaders of OBC Morcha Anil Baldotra and Tarun Kumar were also present on the occasion.
Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) provided dry ration kits to the slums dwellers living within the limits of the Corporation. Till date approximately 7500 dry ration kits have been distributed among the slum dwellers in different slum areas catering to almost 40000 souls. The remaining locations shall also be covered in the coming days on daily basis.
