Sir,
This has reference to the Sunday Magazine article ‘Discrimination with Disabled’ DE Dec 17, 2017.
The article clearly reveals the sufferings faced by the specially abled people in the present administrative and social set up. Though many measures have been taken up the Government from time to time, much more needs to be done for their welfare. The disabled people do not beg for sympathy or compassion, they plead for what is due to them in a democratic set up. They want that job opportunities be created for them, so that they can prove their potential in the chosen vocation. As a welfare state, the Government has to ensure that they have equal access to opportunities for nation building process.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the disabled people are truly a discriminated lot.
Even after urging the Government to create make modifications in office buildings plans were they do have the facility of ramps and wheel chairs etc, so that they do not encounter any problems while pursuing their cases.
Yours etc..
