Discrimination with Jammu crosses all limits: Bhalla

JAMMU, July 27: Accusing the PDP-BJP Government for having failed to address the problems of the people, the Jammu district unit of Congress today held a strong protest at Trikuta Nagar raising slogans and blocking road for a considerable time.
Led by former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla including District Jammu President Anil Chopra a large number of Congress workers raised slogans against coalition Government for taking anti-Jammu decisions and for depriving general public from reach of basic amenities like food, water and proper power supply.
While addressing the protesters, Bhalla said that PDP-BJP coalition has totally failed to address the problems of the people of the State.”Since they (BJP-PDP) joined hands, the miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have increased manifolds. While the BJP cheated people of Jammu, the people of Kashmir were cheated by the PDP,” he said.
He said that all the promises made to the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled. More than two years have passed but they have failed to fulfil any of the promises, be it the problems faced by the border residents, be it the problems faced by the farmers, be it the problems of refugees and Kashmiri Pandits, this government has done nothing to address those problems,” Bhalla said.
Expressing serious concern over the purported Government move of introducing Kashmiri language in the Colleges across Jammu division, Bhalla has threatened a mass movement against any attempt of playing with the sentiments of Dogras. He lambasted ruling BJP for its complete surrender to the PDP for the lust of power and said that people would teach a lesson to this party for its sabotage to interests of Jammu of different occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chopra said that people of Jammu region are being neglected and discriminated despite repeated assurances from Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. “The State Government should honour the commitment made by former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and then by his daughter and the incumbent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of the equitable development of all the three regions of the State.
