Disbursement of Rs 1194 cr flood relief to commence on Mar 10

JAMMU, Mar 2: Governor N N Vohra has directed completion of disbursement of additional financial assistance to the flood affected households on a time bound basis.
He was reviewing the status of preparedness in a meeting today with B.R. Sharma, Chief Secretary and B.B. Vyas, Financial Commissioner, Planning & Development Department.
The Governor has directed that the time bound disbursement of additional financial assistance shall begin on March 10. The funds will be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries electronically by the concerned Deputy Commissioners who have been directed to reconfirm the data available with NDMA in respect of the damaged houses for direct transfer of financial assistance into the bank accounts of the eligible owners of flood affected houses.
The Deputy Commissioners have also been directed to ensure completion of all preparatory arrangements over the next 7 days so that the actual disbursement commences on March 10 and the entire work is completed within 5 days, by March 15. The beneficiaries will also be handed over a copy of the RTGS receipt by the Deputy Commissioners in further confirmation of the direct transfer of financial assistance in their accounts.
The Raj Bhawan spokesperson recalled that the State Administrative Council in its meeting held on 25-02-2016 had approved the grant of additional financial assistance of Rs. 1194 crore under the Prime Minister’s Development Plan-2015 at the scale of Rs.2.50 lakh for fully damaged pucca house, Rs.1.25 lakh for severely damaged pucca house, Rs.1.00 lakh for fully damaged kacha house, Rs.0.50 lakh for severely damaged kacha house, Rs.0.20 lakh for partially damaged pucca house and Rs.0.10 lakh for partially damaged kacha house.
