Srinagar, Oct 21: Prof. Geeta Singh, Director, CPDHE, Delhi University today called on the Governor, Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan and held detailed discussions on varied subjects, largely relating to the education scenario and development of youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. Geeta, who is a noted academician, shared her experience with the Governor on her current visit to Kashmir Valley and briefed him how the youth of Kashmir can be engaged/attracted towards sports, skill development and progress of the nation.
Governor appreciated the initiative of Prof. Geeta and advised her to continue to make her efforts for the development of the youth and promotion of education and skill development programmes in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. A.G. Ahangar, Director, SKIMS, Srinagar also met Governor and briefed him about the functioning of the SKIMS and various new initiatives taken for improving the overall health and medical education sector in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Governor underlined the high importance of the health sector and urged Dr. Ahangar to pay utmost attention to further improve the facilities in SKIMS, which is the premier health institution in Jammu and Kashmir. He also stressed on timely completion of various on-going projects undertaken by the SKIMS to upgrade various infrastructural facilities.
