JAMMU, June 5: Director Indian Systems of Medicine (AYUSH) J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh along with Corporator Nai Basti, Pawan Singh today inaugurated Government Ayurvedic Dispensary at Nai Basti here.
Earlier the Dispensary had become non-functional due to detachment of staff as it was working on internal arrangement basis.
As per the directions of Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Atal Dulloo, all the internal arrangement dispensaries of ISM including Nai Basti have been regularized by sanctioning posts of Medical Officers (ISM) in these Dispensaries vide Government Order No 359-HME of 2019 dated March 26, 2019.
With the re-opening of the Ayurvedic Dispensary at Nai Basti, the densely populated area inhabited by people of low income group will be immensely benefited by this dispensary in which free consultation, medicines and awareness about AYUSH Systems of Medicine will be provided to near 25000 population of the catchment area.
Speaking on the occasion, Director ISM advised people to avail the benefits of AYUSH Health Care Systems which are getting popular throughout the world during this pandemic of COVID-19.
More and more people are getting attracted towards the Ayurvedic preventive and prophylactic measures during COVID-19 as presently there is no specific treatment or vaccine available in modern medicine. The people are advised to adopt AYUSH way of life in the form of Dincharya (Daily Regime), Ritucharya (Seasonal Regime), Dieto therapy, YOGA, Pranayam, Meditation etc.
The function was attended by Deputy Director ISM Jammu Dr. Rohit Gupta, Assistant Director (HQ) Dr. Rakesh Kumar Raina, ADMO Jammu Dr. Suresh Sharma, ADMO Kathua Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal, Dr. B.R. Dub Registrar Homoeopathy, Medical Officer Nai Basti besides prominent citizens of the area.
