Director Industries interacts with Industrial Association

SAMBA, Nov 2: In order to have first hand information about various industrial activities in district Samba and to have interaction with the Association of Industries Samba, Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Dr Abdul Rashid, today paid a visit to Industrial Growth Centre (IGC) Samba.
He was accompanied by General Manager DIC Samba and other officers of Industries and Commerce Department.
The association presented a detailed memorandum of demands which included up gradation of infrastructure in IGC-I and IGC-II, to the Director, who gave a patient hearing to their demands and assured that these will be reflected at the appropriate forum.
The Director also impressed upon the unit holders to provide maximum employment to locals.
The representatives of different industrial unit like Berger Paints, Grauer and Weil, UK Paints, and UPL were also present during the interaction.
The director also visited the office of General Manager Industries Samba and interacted with the staff posted in DIC. He exhorted upon the officers and officials to work with Zeal, compassion and honesty for implementation of Government policies and programmes.
Vijay Aggarwal, president of Samba Industrial Association along with other office bearers appreciated various steps taken by the Director to improve functioning of the department and in making the official procedures/clearances time bound and hassle free.
The director had also visited IGS Kathua on Saturday wherein he interacted with leaders of Association of Industries, Kathua.
On this occasion, president of the association, Devendra Verma demanded the Director to facilitate the process of establishment of new industrial units in the district and provide appropriate road, drainage and power facilities in the industrial area. He also demanded that appropriate steps would be taken to start Ghati Sidco.
The director assured the industrialists that now they would not have to face any problem in completion of files regarding the department. He further said the process to identify land for establishment of new industrial area is under consideration.
