JAMMU, June 4: Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak today convened the meeting of Chief Horticulture Officers and Chief Canning Instructor of Jammu Division at Horticulture Complex Talab Tillo to discuss the roadmap for implementation of various developmental activities during the financial year 2022-23 in Jammu Division.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on all the schemes of the department viz: CAPEX, MIDH, ATMA, PMDP, PMKSY and the status of various works being undertaken for the development of Horticulture as a whole. Tentative targets under all the schemes were allocated to all the district heads of the department so as to achieve the targets well in time especially rainy season plantation, UHD plantation, deep bore wells, farm mechanisation, processing units etc.
For development of nurseries, the Director impressed upon all the officers to enhance the production of quality planting material so that the department may become self-sufficient in meeting the demands of the farmers.
Further, the chair directed district heads to make facilitation centres fully functional for enhancing revenue, motivate private entrepreneurs in establishment of nurseries with departmental assistance, generate soil health card of every orchardist etc.
Among others, Joint Director Horticulture Jammu, Dy Director Planning, Dy Director Horticulture (Central), OSDs, DMPP and other officers were also present in the meeting.
