JAMMU, Aug 26: Director Vikas Sharma today chaired a meeting of officers of Department of Horticulture (P&M).
All the officers of the department from Jammu as well as Kashmir Division attended the meeting.
Joint Director, Deputy Directors & Executive Engineers of the department deliberated upon functioning of the department and also all the issues pertaining to department were discussed.
The director took a review of ongoing works of all the Mandies across UT of J&K and gave directions for early execution of the works.
The Deputy Directors from Kashmir and Jammu briefed the Director with all the promotional activities taken up by the department. Progress on Agriculture Infrastructural Fund, One District One Product and other schemes related to National Horticulture Board and NABARD were also discussed.
Main emphasis was on more was on implementation of e-NAM wherein nine more Mandies have been added to facilitate the traders and farmers for selling their produce online. Officers from Smart City Project Ltd Jammu also attended the meeting and gave a detailed view ongoing works in Fruit & Vegetable Market Narwal Jammu.
The Director Horticulture emphasized upon taking the department to next heights with overall welfare of the employees besides benefiting the farmers, traders & other stakeholders.
