Jammu, Feb 3: The Director, Watershed Management, Department of Land Resources, Union Ministry of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj S.K Daila today reviewed the implementation of the Integrated Watershed Management Programme in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir
In this regard, a review meeting was held in Panchayat Bhawan where Chief Executive Officer, IWMP Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Ashok Kumar Financial Advisor/CAO, Project Manager IWMP of Kathua, Udhampur, Samba, Reasi and Jammu were also present. The officials of SLNA and Ankurveer Arora of PMMI also participated in the meeting.
The Chief Executive Officer, IWMP Dr. Bharat Bhushan gave a PowerPoint presentation on the occasion enlisting the physical and financial achievements registered under the scheme. He appraised that under the Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yona 2.0, the central government has approved 18 projects for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir spanning over 17 districts. Baramulla being the aspirational district has two projects.
The Detailed Project Reports of ten projects have been prepared and rest eight DPRs are likely to be formulated by 20th February. Further, the UT has already physically completed 105 Entry Point Activities in the project areas.
S.K Daila, Director, Watershed Management, Department of Land Resources, GoI appreciated the progress registered by J&K under PMKSY-Phase-I in which the UT stood fourth in the implementation of the scheme. He also appreciated that the UT has submitted all 119 Project Completion Reports to the Department of Land Resources. He underlined the need for submitting the End Line Evaluation Reports of the executed projects and uploading of all the progress on MIS portal. He exhorted the officers to maintain the tempo of progress in WDC- 2.0 also.
Later, he also interacted with the Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mandeep Kaur, who is also the Chairperson of IWMP, J&K.
