THANAMANDI, Sept 12: The Director Colleges, Higher Education Department Jammu and Kashmir Prof Yasmeen Ashai visited GDC Thannamandi and took stock of the college performance as well as infrastructure on the campus.
She was presented guard of honour by the NCC Cadets under the guidance of NCC Officer Dr Tajinder Singh. The formal welcome address was presented by the college Principal, Dr Farooq Ahmed, who gave a detailed report of the college and also put forward several demands of the institution.
The Director took a round of the college campus and interacted with the staff and students. While interacting with staff of the college, she directed them to deliver quality education and inculcate high moral values among the students.
After the thorough inspection of every nook and corner of the campus, she expressed her satisfaction on the performance of the faculty and the Principal and especially appreciated the cleanliness and maintenance of the college campus. She encouraged and motivated the faculty to work hard for achieving higher grade in NAAC accreditation by preparing a high quality SSR.
Moreover, the Director inaugurated Browsing Centre of the college and also planted a sapling of orange tree as a part of plantation drive. She ordered for the early completion of the ongoing projects and assured that the department shall soon fulfill all the genuine demands put forth by the college.
The Director further took note of the demand of the college regarding posting of non teaching staff for smooth functioning of college. As a part of celebrations of Shikshav Parv (Teachers’ Day), Prof Yasmeen Ashai was felicitated by presenting a memento for her meritorious services as teacher.
