JAMMU, June 12: A meeting of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association was held here today under the presidentship of Engineer Upinder Singh, wherein the participants strongly criticized the Government for ignoring the Diploma Engineers in promotion
Addressing the meeting, Singh criticized the State administration for ignoring the Diploma Engineers in the promotion list of AE to AEE in PDD issued vide Government Order No 111 PDD of 2015 dated June 11, 2015 as against 400 posts of AEE in PDD.
He said that 325 posts of AEE were already held by Degree holder Engineers and against 20% quota of Diploma Engineers only 30 Diploma Engineers are working as AEE against sanctioned 80 posts.
He demanded immediate release of 65 left over posts of Assistant Engineers in favour of Diploma Engineers under Career progression in PDD on the analogy of Hyd and R&B wings, promotion of AE to AEE as there is shortfall of 50 posts and promotion of AEE to XEN, as against 22 posts of XENs as per 20% quota only 10 Diploma Engineers are working as XEN.
He warned the administration to resist from playing with the sentiments of Diploma Engineers and urged Deputy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh, to personally intervene into the matter and cancel the recent promotion list of AE to AEE.
