Diploma Engineers apprise DyCM of their demands, issues

SRINAGAR, June 10: A deputation of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association, led by its president Er Upinder Singh, called on Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh at the Civil Secretariat, here today.
The deputation apprised the Dy CM about the issues and demands of the Diploma Engineers in various Engineering wings of different departments in general and PDD in particular.
The Association demanded a comprehensive policy to remove the stagnation of Diploma Engineers at the level of Junior Engineers with a particular time frame. The Association  suggested implementation of  Punjab pattern as a way out for the same and also demanded release of 65 left over posts  of Assistant Engineers under Career Progression Scheme in favour of Diploma Engineers on the analogy of Hydraulic, PWD (R&B) Department, maintenance of 20 percent quota earmarked for Diploma  at the level  of AEE and XEn, earmarking of newly created posts of AEs in favour of  Diploma Engineers in all Engineering wings as per recommendations of Establishment cum selection committee report.
The Deputy CM acknowledged the vital role being played by the Diploma Engineers in various wings and assured that their demands would be considered sympathetically in right perspective.
